Pierre-Auguste Renoir, a key figure of Impressionism, elevated light and modern life through his scenes of dance, portraits, and landscapes. His paintings, vibrant with sensuality and color, have become timeless symbols of pictorial joy. In my studio, I hand-paint faithful reproductions of his masterpieces in oil on canvas, preserving the delicacy and vivid charm of his brushwork.

Works available as reproductions

• Dance at Bougival

A lively scene where movement and color express the cheerful spirit of Impressionism. In a hand-painted reproduction, this work brings warmth and energy into any home.

• Luncheon of the Boating Party

An icon of modern art, this composition blends portraiture and convivial atmosphere along the Seine. Hand-painted in oil, it captures the festive light and spontaneity of the original.

• Two Sisters (On the Terrace)

A double portrait full of freshness and tenderness, characteristic of Renoir’s affectionate style.

• Young Girls at the Piano

An intimate and graceful scene where art and music meet in a gentle, domestic harmony.

Living light according to Renoir

In Renoir's work, light literally dances on bodies and faces. He does not paint scenes: he captures happy, vibrant moments, as if the air itself were turning into paint. Renoir is joy embodied in color.

Significant episodes in his career

At the end of his life, struck by deforming arthritis, Renoir continued to paint with brushes tied to his paralyzed fingers. He simply said: “The pain passes, the beauty remains.” Renoir was so passionate about the female form that he declared: “I prefer to paint a woman's buttocks than Rouen Cathedral.” That says it all about his relationship with sensuality.

Why Renoir still moves us

Paintings such as Luncheon of the Boating Party and The Bathers retain an incredible freshness today. They convey a simple, unironical happiness that has become almost subversive in our anxious times. When viewing The Dance at Bougival or Young Girls at the Piano, we feel a deep tenderness.
A hand-painted reproduction of this Impressionist master brings warmth, light, and harmony into your home.
